Hi-Phi Music Biography
The notion that the human brain is programmed to be stimulated by beauty is an interesting one. Isn’t beauty subjective and in the eye of the beholder? Then, why is it in art that some things just work? They are universally applauded and cherished for their beauty.
Creative people have understood this for centuries and have drawn their inspiration from the beauty in nature where perfection means survival. Think of butterfly’s wings, the leaves on a tree or the spirals on a shell, these things have evolved throughout time to be perfect for their required purpose and the laws of Phi, the natural ratio of beauty, govern them all. The golden ratio or 1:1.618 used by architects, artists and musicians to create work which is not only pleasing to the senses but also entirely functional for its purpose.
2006 was a wonderful year. The summer seemed to last all year long and a label, inspired by beautiful music to seep into, was born. Hi-Phi Music, a label that defies genre association but is rooted in natural beauty, aims to transfer this natural beauty into musical form, fit for any Hi-Fi.
Kicking off with label stalwarts International Peoples Gang – This Is IPG EP, including Bent and Heavy Deviance Remixes, the label has continued to release gorgeous music to help you while away the hours at home, in bar, travelling to some far off place or even in the office. After 3 albums and 12 singles Hi-Phi is now gaining worldwide support from some of our favourite DJ’s and influencers. A Love From Outer Space, Crazy P, Bill Brewster, Eskimo Records, Tim ‘Love’ Lee, Is It Balearic? Records and so many more wonderful people are loving the music we are releasing. With plans to release music inspired by Sufi traditions, Sound Healing and deeper, funky, electronic loveliness Hi-Phi is on a mission to provide a soundtrack to the finer moments in your life. Raising your energetic frequency, helping you anchor into the finer aspects of living, Hi-Phi Music welcomes you on a journey of musical discovery, tingling your sensations.
